Maria L. Shojaee is a distinguished alumnus of the University of Miami, as well as CEO of the Shoma Group, a South Florida real estate development firm. She has been a member of the University of Miami Board of Trustees and currently participates on various University committees, including:

• UHealth/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Visiting Committee
• Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Supportive Oncology Services Committee
• School of Nursing and Health Studies Visiting Committee
• School of Communication Visiting Committee

Shojaee is Co-Chair of the Momentum2 campaign for the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies. She also serves as an Adjunct Faculty member of the School of Nursing and Health Studies and as invited guest lecturer for the graduate programs in her area of interest, Integrative Healthcare. Shojaee is a passionate advocate for integrating Eastern Medicine modalities with Western Medicine to better manage disease symptoms by addressing a person’s body, mind, and soul. She participated in a prominent panel of experts speaking on the subject of “Advances in Integrative Healthcare: Impact on Global Health Issues” at the 2011 University of Miami Global Business Forum. She is also a national board member of NPH-USA, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned, abandoned, and disadvantaged children in Latin America and the Caribbean. Shojaee holds an MBA in Health Sector Management and Policy degree from the University of Miami School of Business Administration.
